If you head out toward Mohanpur, you’ll find us. We are Garighat Farmers Producer Company, and we are based right in the middle of Mohanpurtola. It’s a small place, and most of us have lived here our whole lives. Ramdhani Mandal is the main contact person for our group. We don't have a big office building or anything like that. We usually just meet up under a tree or in someone’s front yard to talk about the farming situation. Being a farmer in a place like Mohanpur means you have to be ready for anything. The roads aren't always great, especially when it rains, so getting our produce out to the markets can be a real headache. We are just a group of neighbors trying to pool our resources so we don't get pushed around by the big buyers. It’s honest work, though it’s never easy. We spend our days in the fields, checking the growth and hoping for a decent harvest. There is no special magic to what we do. It’s just about putting in the hours and hoping for the best. We don't have any polished speeches or marketing tricks. We are just regular people from the village who know how to work the soil. If you come by, you’ll see us doing exactly what our fathers and grandfathers did, just trying to make ends meet in Mohanpur.
