Thube Patil Farmer Producer Company Limited is located at G.No.149 in Pokhri, which is part of Vaijapur. We’ve been around these fields for a long time. The Thube and Patil names are well known in this part of the country. We aren't doing this to get rich quick; we’re doing it because it’s the only way to keep the farms going. In Pokhri, the soil tells you what it needs if you listen to it long enough. We spend most of our time out in the dirt, checking on the stalks and making sure the irrigation is working right. Our office is basically just a room where we keep the records and a few chairs for when the neighbors stop by to chat. We don’t use polished language because we don't have time for it. There’s always a tractor that needs fixing or a field that needs clearing. We process some of the crops ourselves and sell the rest. It’s a lot of physical labor and sometimes it’s frustrating when the market prices drop for no reason. But we’ve got a good group of people here who don't mind getting their hands dirty. We just want to do right by the land and the people who live on it. It’s not complicated, it’s just farming. We stay busy from sunup to sundown and that’s just how we like it.
