Our group, Kande Agro Farmer Producer Company Limited, operates from Garaj in the Vaijapur area. We use the space at Madhukar Prabhakar Kande’s place, which is located at Gut No 218. In Garaj, farming isn't just a job, it is what everyone does, and we have been doing it for generations. We decided to start this company because we wanted more control over how our crops were handled once they left the field. Instead of just taking whatever price was offered at the gate, we now sit down together and plan our moves. The office is really just a part of the house where we keep the ledgers and the registers. It smells like the earth and sometimes like the grain stored nearby. People come and go throughout the day, often bringing news about the market prices in Vaijapur or the weather forecast. We don't spend money on fancy signs or expensive furniture. Every rupee we save is a rupee that stays with the farmers. It is a simple way of living, and our business reflects that. We deal with all sorts of local produce and try to help each other out when things get lean. There is no corporate ladder here, just a bunch of guys who know how to plow a field and want to see their hard work pay off for their children. It is honest, local, and straightforward, just the way we like to do things around here.
