Sathe Patil Farmer Producer Company Limited

Our office for Sathe Patil Farmer Producer Company Limited is over at Shivaji Sale’s place in Jambargaon. We are in the Vaijapur area of the district, which is quite a drive from the main city. It is a small village where everyone knows each other by name. Most of us here have been farming our whole lives, just like our fathers and grandfathers did. We decided to put this company together to help manage the harvests and get things to the market without too much trouble. It isn't always easy because the roads aren't the best and the water can be a real problem during the dry months. We spend a lot of time just talking about what to plant next. Sometimes we meet on the porch and drink tea while we look at the fields and discuss the prices. It is a very local thing, not like those big companies you see in the city. We don't have fancy computers or a big sign out front. We just use what we have available. Most of the people involved are from the nearby farms around Jambargaon. It is a community effort, really. We handle the grains and whatever else is growing that season. We are just trying to get a fair deal for the hard work we put into the ground every day. If you come to Vaijapur and head out towards our village, you will find us easily enough. It’s a busy life but it is what we know.
