Parachi Agro Farmer Producer Company Limited is based out of Gut No. 584 in Dhondalgaon. This is in the Vaijapur area. Bhagwan Babasaheb Wagh is the one who helps keep things organized here. We have a lot of space out at the gut, and that’s where we usually meet up to talk about the season. Farming around Vaijapur can be really tough because it gets so dry. We spend a lot of time worrying about the wells and if the water will last until the next harvest. We aren’t some big city firm. We are just local people who have lived in Dhondalgaon for generations. We know every inch of the soil here. The idea for the company came up one day when we were complaining about the price of fertilizer. We figured if we bought it all together, it might be cheaper. It took a while to get everything registered and we still struggle with all the modern computer stuff. Usually, we just write things down in notebooks. It’s a messy way to run things, but it’s what we can manage. We want our kids to see that farming can still be a way to live, even if it’s hard work. We don't have any fancy mission statements or goals like that. We just want to grow good crops and sell them for enough to pay the bills and keep going next year.
