Uma Marble

We have been over here at Vithal Udyognagar in Vadodara for a long while now. It is mostly just us dealing with marble slabs and cutting things to size for whoever walks in the door. Most days start early with the trucks arriving and we spend a lot of time just moving heavy stone around the yard. It is dusty work, that is for sure. People come to Uma Marble looking for stuff for their floors or maybe a kitchen counter, and we show them what is sitting in the back. There is not much fancy about the place. We just focus on getting the measurements right and making sure the pieces are not cracked when they go out. Sometimes the machines act up or the weather makes it hard to work outside, but we manage to get through the orders. It is a local business and we know a lot of the builders around Vadodara by name now. We do not have a big sales team or anything like that. If you come by, you will probably see us in our work clothes covered in white dust. We just try to keep enough stock so people have choices. It is hard work, lifting and polishing all day, but it is what we do. We have been at this same spot for years and do not plan on moving. Just simple stone work for local houses and shops.
