Mahavir Granites

We have been here at Plot No. 299-a in the Gidc Ind. Estate for a while now. Running Mahavir Granites isn't always easy, but it is what we do. Every morning, we open up the gates and get to work with the slabs. People come by looking for different types of granite, and we just show them what we have on the lot. Some pieces have more veins, some are darker, and some are just plain. It’s heavy work, moving these stones around all day. The dust gets everywhere, especially when we are cutting things to size for a specific order. We try to keep things organized, but in an industrial estate, it’s always a bit busy and noisy with trucks coming in and out. Most of the time, it's just us making sure the inventory is right. If someone needs a piece for a kitchen or a floor, they just walk in and we talk about it. We don't have a fancy showroom or anything like that. It's just a yard with a lot of stone. Sometimes the weather makes it hard to work outside, but we manage. We’ve seen a lot of changes in the estate over the years, yet we stay right here. Dealing with granite is simple if you know what you are looking at. We just keep the slabs stacked and wait for the next person to stop by the plot. It's a living.
