Shree Adinath Marbles

Our yard is over on Kalali Road, right across from the Transpek Silor and near the Tata showroom. Shree Adinath Marbles has been at this No. 1 spot in Makarpura for a good bit of time. The road gets pretty busy with people going toward the showroom, so we see a lot of cars. Our place is mostly filled with marble slabs of all different sizes. It’s a lot of white and grey stone everywhere you look. We don't have any air conditioning in the main area, just some big fans that mostly just move the dust around. The office has some old posters on the wall and a lot of stone samples taking up space on the shelves. We spend the morning checking the stock and seeing what needs to be moved. Loading the marble is the hardest part because it’s so heavy and you have to be careful not to snap it. We use a lot of water to keep things clean, but the floor is usually covered in that white marble slurry. It’s a messy job. We know most of the people who work at the nearby industrial units. Sometimes we sit out front in the evening when the breeze starts up. It’s just a regular marble business, doing the same routine every day and keeping the yard running.
