Sharma Plastic Industries

Out here in Ranoli, things are pretty industrial. We are located at number 318, which isn't the easiest place to find if you aren't used to the area. At Sharma Plastic Industries, the day starts early when the machines get turned on. It’s always a bit noisy and the smell of melting plastic is something you just get used to after a week or two. I spend a lot of my time checking the molds and making sure the output looks right. There is a lot of dust because of all the trucks moving around outside on the main road. The heat in the afternoon can be really something else, especially when the heavy machinery is running full tilt. We have a small office area, but most of the action happens on the floor where the real work is done. It isn't a glamorous job by any means. We handle a lot of different plastic items and sometimes the orders pile up so much that we are here late into the evening. My tea guy comes around twice a day and that is usually the highlight of the afternoon. We don't have any fancy receptionists or big leather chairs. It’s just us, some heavy machines, and a lot of plastic pellets. If the power goes out, which it does sometimes, we just sit outside and wait for it to come back on. It is a simple operation and we just try to keep things moving along day by day.
