Matangi Technocraft

At Matangi Technocraft, located at Plot No. 748/6/13 in the Gidc. Estate, we handle a variety of technical jobs. It’s a bit of a mix of everything here. One day we might be working on a small component, and the next day we are looking at a bigger assembly. We have some decent equipment in the shed, and we try to keep everything in working order. The roof leaks a little when it rains hard, but we just move the machines out of the way. We’ve been in this spot for a while now and we know the rhythms of the estate. The tea seller comes by twice a day, and that’s usually when we take our breaks. We don't have a big corporate structure or any of that. It's just a few of us making things happen. We use a lot of measuring tools because being off by a hair can ruin the whole job. It takes patience. Some days are slow and we just clean the tools, and other days we are working late into the evening to get an order out. We don’t talk much about things being perfect; we just focus on not making mistakes. It’s a practical way to live. We like being our own bosses and seeing the physical results of our labor at the end of every week. It feels good to see something finished.
