Sangitika School Of Music

Our music school is up on the 5th floor of the Patel Ashwamegh Complex in Sayaji Ganj. Being that high up, we get a bit of a view of the Vadodara streets below, though it’s mostly just roofs and traffic. Sayaji Ganj is a very active part of town, so there is always a lot going on outside. Once you take the lift up and step into our floor, the noise from the street fades away a little. We have different rooms for different instruments, so you might hear a violin in one corner and someone practicing vocals in another. The hallways are narrow and usually have a few instrument cases leaning against the walls. We don't have a fancy lobby, just a small area where students wait for their turn. The windows are usually kept closed to keep the sound in and the dust out. On rainy days, the complex can get a bit damp, but we keep the instruments tucked away in their cabinets. Many of our students are college kids from the nearby university or people who work in the offices downstairs. It’s a convenient spot for anyone already in the center of the city. We have some old wooden benches for sitting and a few fans that hum along with the music. It’s just a dedicated space for people to come and focus on their scales and songs without any big distractions from the outside world.
