Royal Tiles & Marble Industries

We are down in the basement at B-108, Mota Apartment. Being at Chhani Jakat Naka means we are right where the action is for building materials. It is not the most glamorous spot, being below ground level, but for Royal Tiles & Marble Industries, it works just fine. The air always has a bit of that stone dust smell, which I guess you get used to after a week or two. We have stacks of different marble slabs and tiles leaning against the walls. It makes the space feel even smaller than it is, but we know where everything is. People come in looking for something specific for their kitchens or floors, and we spend a lot of time walking them through the piles. It can get pretty hot in the summer since the ventilation isn't the greatest down here, so we keep a couple of loud fans running all day. The noise from the street above filters down, but it is mostly just background hum. We don't spend much on decorating the office because the product is what people are here to see. It is a lot of heavy lifting and moving crates around. Most of the time, our clothes are covered in some kind of white powder by the end of the shift. It is a practical business and we just focus on getting the right stones to the right people without making a big fuss about it. We stay busy.
