Raj Kotastone & Marbles

Our yard is located in Karelibaug, right near the petrol pump. It’s a convenient spot because everyone knows where the pump is. We deal mostly in Kotastone and different types of marble. It’s a simple business. We get the stone in, we stack it up, and we wait for people to come by and take a look. We’ve been here for years, and the neighborhood has grown up all around us. The dust is a constant companion here, but you get used to it after the first week. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who handle the loading and the selling. We don't use any fancy sales tactics or anything. If you like a stone and the price works for you, then we have a deal. It’s very old-fashioned that way. Sometimes we sit outside on plastic chairs when it’s quiet, just watching the cars go by the petrol pump. The evenings get pretty busy with people finishing work and stopping in to ask about prices. We try to be helpful without being pushy. Most of our customers are locals who are doing some small renovations. We like seeing the finished photos they sometimes bring back to show us. It makes the hard work feel like it’s worth something. We’ll probably be right here near the pump for a long time to come. It’s just what we do.
