Jalaram White Marble & Granite

Jalaram White Marble & Granite is based in the Bhilodia Nandanvan Complex. We are situated near the Vadsar Bridge on the Vadasar Kalali Road. It is basically a big open yard where we keep rows and rows of stone slabs. There is white marble from Rajasthan and various colors of granite stacked everywhere. When the sun hits the stone, it can be quite bright. We spend most of our time moving these heavy slabs with a crane or helping customers pick out the right piece for their stairs. The ground is always covered in a fine white powder from the stone cutting machines. It gets into your shoes and clothes, so I stopped trying to keep things clean a long time ago. People building new houses come here to browse the selection. We don't have a salesperson; I just walk around with them and explain where each stone came from. Sometimes the edges of the marble get chipped, so we have to trim them down. It’s heavy, physical work and you have to be careful not to drop anything. The Vadsar Kalali Road is always busy with trucks, so it can be a bit loud. We have a small tin shed where we keep the records and a few chairs for when the sun gets too hot. It's just a regular stone yard for regular people.
