Jain Granite & Marbles

Our place is down in the G.I.D.C. Industrial Estate in Makarpura. The plot number is 988/2. If you know the area, you know it’s mostly factories and big warehouses around here. It’s a noisy part of town because of all the machinery running. We spend most of our time out with the granite and marble slabs. They are heavy and take a lot of work to move around correctly. The yard is usually full of different stones from different places. It’s not very clean, honestly. There is always stone dust in the air and on our clothes. We use the forklifts a lot to shift the bigger pieces of marble so people can see the patterns. Sometimes the rain makes the yard a bit muddy, but we just keep working through it. We aren't trying to be some high-end boutique. We are just a stone yard in an industrial estate. We spend our mornings checking the inventory and our evenings making sure everything is locked up tight. Most people who come here are looking for something specific for their floors or counters. We show them what’s in the stacks. It’s simple work, really. Just granite and marble and a lot of heavy lifting every single day. We’ve been in this spot in Makarpura for a long time now and we just keep at it. It's a lot of manual labor but that is just how the stone business goes.
