Hinglaj Floor Mil

We are located at shop number 3 in the Novjian Shopping area. The sign says Hinglaj Floor Mil, and that’s where we’ve been for a while. It’s a small shop, not like those big commercial places. We just have what we need to get the job done. A couple of grinders, a scale, and some empty sacks. The shopping center gets a bit of a crowd in the evenings, but we are busy most of the day. Grinding grain is a messy business. No matter how much you clean, there is always flour on the floor and the shelves. I don't really mind it. It shows we’re working. Most people who come here are from the local neighborhood. They bring their wheat in plastic buckets or cloth bags. I weigh it, dump it in, and let the stones do the work. The noise is a bit much if you aren't used to it, a heavy grinding sound that vibrates the floor. You can feel it in your feet. Sometimes I have to change the stones when they get too smooth. That’s a heavy job. We don't have any polished floors or fancy lights. Just the basic bulbs and the machines. It’s a simple shop for people who want their grain ground the old-fashioned way. We just keep our heads down and keep the machines running for whoever needs us to grind their grains for their daily bread.
