We’ve been at 78 Alkapuri for a while now. It’s called Vanganga. It’s a busy spot but we like it here. Working with forest stuff in Gujarat is what we do day in and day out. Sometimes the office gets a bit cluttered with papers and maps. People come in and out looking for things related to the development side of the woods. It’s not fancy. Just a government corporation office. Most of us have been here for years and know the routines by heart. The coffee machine breaks sometimes, but we get by. We deal with various projects across the state from this small corner in Alkapuri. It’s mostly about managing what’s out there in the green spaces. We don't have a big glossy brochure or anything. If you need us, you just come to the building. There’s a lot of talk about trees and land every morning. It can be slow work, government work usually is, but it matters to the area. We just keep things moving, filing the right forms and talking to the right people. It’s steady work. Nothing more, nothing less. Just folks doing their jobs at the Gujarat State Forest Development Corp. Ltd. everyday. The walk from the gate to the front door at Vanganga is short but we see the same trees every day. Most days start early with a lot of tea and looking over reports. Since it's the forest development side, there's always something about the land to discuss.
