Fabrigami

Fabrigami is located up on the fourth floor, unit 401, in the Alaap building. We are part of the Purshottam Nagar Society on Productivity Road. It is a bit of a walk up if the lift is acting up, which happens more than we like. Our work revolves around fabrics and design. The room is usually covered in scraps of cloth and loose thread. We have a couple of sewing machines that run for most of the afternoon. It is not a quiet office. It is a workshop where things get made. We started this because we like working with our hands. We don't have a big marketing team or a fancy website. Most people find us because a friend told them about our work. The light in the afternoon is good for seeing the colors correctly. We drink a lot of coffee while we figure out patterns. Sometimes we get the measurements wrong and have to start over from scratch. It is frustrating but just part of the process. We don't have a lobby or a waiting area. You just walk straight into where we are working. We have got rolls of fabric stacked against the walls in no particular order. It is a bit disorganized, but we know where everything is kept. Productivity Road is always busy, so we hear the traffic outside all day long. We just keep our heads down and focus on the needles and the fabric.
