If you are looking for Keval Bag, you just have to find the old Pratap Talkies. We are right opposite that. It’s a busy part of the Mangal Bazar area. There is a big transformer nearby too, which makes it easy to explain to people who are lost. We are also near the Manoranjan Hotel. That area is always full of people shopping or going to eat. It’s quite noisy with all the rickshaws and vendors, but we like the energy. We sell bags of all kinds. It’s a small shop, but we pack a lot of stuff inside. Sometimes it feels a bit cramped when there are more than three customers, but we make it work. The Mangal Bazar is the heart of the town for shopping, so we get all sorts of people. Some are looking for school bags, others want something for travel. We’ve seen the area change over the years, but the transformer and the cinema stay the same. We open the shutters early because the morning market is usually the busiest. By the evening, the street lights come on and the hotel next door gets busy with the dinner crowd. We stay open until the market starts to quiet down. It’s just us running the place, nothing fancy about it. We just sell bags and try to be honest about what people are buying. It’s a good living in a lively part of town. The shelves are getting a bit old now, but they still hold the heavy suitcases just fine.
