Chishtiya Gas Service

You can find us at plot 178 in the GIDC area of Por-Ramangamdi. It’s an industrial zone, so it’s mostly warehouses and factories around us. We handle gas services, which means there are always cylinders being moved around the site. The sound of metal clanking is pretty much the background noise of our lives here. It’s a dusty place, and the sun hits the corrugated roofs hard in the afternoon. We have a small office area where we manage the bookings and the delivery schedules, but most of the work happens out in the open or in the loading bay. We’ve got a couple of trucks that go out every morning to supply the local businesses and homes in the nearby areas. It isn't a glamorous job by any means. We’re often covered in a bit of grime and grease by the end of the shift. We focus on getting the deliveries done on time because people really need their gas for cooking or running their small workshops. If a truck breaks down, it throws the whole day off, so we spend a lot of time just managing the logistics and making sure the empty cylinders come back when they should. It’s a very straightforward business. We don't have a marketing team or anything like that; we just have a phone line that rings constantly and a few reliable workers who know the routes by heart. It’s just how things work in Por, day in and day out.
