If you head down to Phase-IV in GIDC Vatva, you'll find us at 315/3. Baroda Plastic Scrap has been operating out of this warehouse for a while. It’s an industrial area, so it’s often dusty and there are big trucks moving around the corner constantly. We deal with a lot of plastic waste. People bring in sacks of it, and we spend our hours sorting it all out. It’s hard work and it definitely isn't clean. The ground is usually covered in bits of material before we sweep it all up at the end of the shift. We have a few machines that help with the sorting and processing, but a lot of it is just manual labor. It gets very hot under the tin roof in the summer, but we keep going. The neighbors are all other factories and scrap yards, so we all know each other well. We don't have a front office with fancy chairs or air conditioning. It’s mostly just a metal desk with some ledgers and a phone that rings too much during the day. We focus on getting the material in and out as fast as we can. It’s about the weight and the type of plastic more than anything else. Most of the staff has been here for years, so we have a good rhythm down. It’s just a regular scrap business in the heart of the GIDC district, doing what we do every day.
