Aakar Architects

Aakar Architects is based in B-7-8 Bihari Apartment, which sits right on the main R C Dutt Road in Alkapuri. We are located right beside the Welcome Hotel, which is a big landmark that helps people find us, even though the Alkapuri traffic can be quite a struggle some days. Our office isn't a modern glass box; it is an older space that has a lot of character. We have shelves that are absolutely packed with project files from years ago and large tables where we spread out our architectural drawings. The walls are covered with sketches and notes pinned up everywhere. It is a busy, working environment. We spend our days going between our desks and various construction sites around Vadodara. Being in the 390007 zip code keeps us right in the middle of all the action. Sometimes we stay late into the evening when we have a big deadline, and we will just grab some food from a nearby stall on R C Dutt Road. It is just the two of us and a couple of helpers, so it is a very small operation. We don't use a lot of marketing talk or try to sound more important than we are. We just focus on the buildings we are working on and try to do a solid job for every person who walks through our door. It is a practical way of working, and after all these years at Bihari Apartment, it just feels like home to us.
