Down in the basement of Mythri Complex in Udupi, that’s where you will find our office. Being near the bus stand means we are right in the thick of things. It is often a bit cooler down here away from the sun, which is nice during the hotter months. We have people dropping in all the time, usually in a hurry because they have a bus to catch or they just arrived in town. We spend our time looking at schedules and talking to drivers on the phone. The office is filled with the sounds of the city above us and the shuffle of feet in the complex. It’s a simple setup with some chairs for people to wait and a couple of desks for us to work at. We handle a lot of different travel requests, from local trips to longer journeys. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded when a whole family comes in at once, but we just pull up another chair. We aren't interested in being fancy; we just want to make sure people get where they are going. The building itself is an old landmark in the area, so most locals know exactly where to find us. We’ve been here long enough that we recognize the regulars who pass by every day. It’s a busy, honest way to make a living in the middle of Udupi.
