Shree Bajrang Chat & Mishthan

Living and working near Mavli Junction on Nyay Marg is never quiet. Shree Bajrang Chat & Mishthan is right in the middle of all that movement. We get people who are just getting off the trains and they are usually hungry. The sound of the station is always in the background. We spend our mornings making the sweets and getting the chat ready for the afternoon rush. The steam from the pans fills up the front of the shop. It gets a bit sticky in here, but that is just part of the food business. We have a few tables that have seen better days, but they serve the purpose. Most people just stand and eat quickly before catching their next ride. My brother and I run the place, and we are usually arguing about something or other, but we get the work done. The floor is made of old stone and it’s hard to keep it perfectly clean with all the feet coming through, but we try. We use whatever ingredients are fresh in the market that day. There is no big secret to what we do. We just cook things the way we were taught. It is a busy life on Nyay Marg. Sometimes we sit outside for a minute when it’s slow, just watching the people go by the junction. It’s our home and our work all rolled into one. We stay until the last train crowd thins out for the night.
