Shiv Dal Bati Pudi

If you are driving along N H 8 on the Bhuwana By Pass Road, you will find us there. We are right near the Mahila Thana in Bhuwana, Udaipur. It’s a busy road with a lot of trucks and travelers passing through this part of Rajasthan. We mostly serve dal bati and pudi, which is what people around here expect. It’s a simple setup, nothing too grand, just a place to sit down and have a heavy meal. The weather in Udaipur gets quite hot, so we try to keep the seating area as cool as we can. We start cooking the dal and baking the batis early in the morning so they are fresh for the lunch crowd. The pin code here is 313001. Sometimes travelers stop by because they are tired from the long drive on the highway. We see a lot of different faces every day. It’s hard work standing by the stove all day, but we are used to it now. We don't have a massive menu, just the traditional stuff we know how to make well. The area around the bypass is always growing, but we stay right here near the police station. It's just us doing our thing, making sure there's enough food for whoever walks in the door. We hope the food is hot and the seats are enough for everyone who stops by our little roadside place on the bypass. It's a long road.
