Pakhtoon

You can find us over in Saveena, right on National Highway 8 in Udaipur. We are pretty easy to spot because we are directly opposite the Meldi Mata Mandir in Sector 12. Being on the highway means we get a lot of people driving through Rajasthan on their way to other places. The dust from the road is something we have to deal with every day, but that is just part of being in this location. We opened Pakhtoon because we wanted a place where people could stop and eat something decent while traveling. It is a very straightforward setup. We didn't bother with fancy decorations or anything that isn't strictly needed for a restaurant. We spend a lot of our time in the kitchen or making sure the tables are wiped down properly. The weather here gets really hot, so we do our best to keep the space comfortable for people who have been sitting in cars for hours. We have a few staff members who have been here since we first started. We aren't trying to be the biggest place on the road, just a reliable one. Sometimes the highway gets blocked with traffic and things get slow, other times it is a constant rush of hungry customers. We just take it as it comes. It feels like a local spot even though we are on a main road. We like seeing the regular faces from the neighborhood too. It is just life on the highway.
