We are over at Emerald Tower, right in the Hathipole area of Udaipur. Our office covers rooms 311 and 313. Hathipole is a very busy part of town with a lot of markets and people moving about, so it’s always interesting coming into work. The tower itself is a well-known building, which helps people find us without too much trouble. Inside our space, it’s all about business. We have rows of filing cabinets and desks piled with ledgers and documents. It might look a bit cluttered to an outsider, but we know exactly where everything is. We’ve spent a lot of years in this office, and it’s become a second home to many of us. We don’t have a big corporate team; it’s just a few of us who have been doing this for a long time. The atmosphere is generally quiet, though things can get a bit frantic when the end of the financial year rolls around. We usually have a pot of tea going and the sound of the street filter up from below. It’s a very grounded kind of place. We don’t use any fancy talk or try to impress people with big presentations. We just sit down, look at the numbers, and help get things sorted out. It’s a practical way to work, and it’s served us well for all the years we’ve been at Emerald Tower. We just keep our heads down and handle the tasks as they come.
