At Amal Ka Kanta, specifically at Premidwara Marg 10, that’s where you’ll find Priyank Plastic. The shop is packed from floor to ceiling with all kinds of plastic goods. We have buckets, containers, and those big drums people use for water. It’s a bit of a maze inside because we try to fit as much as we can into the space. The light isn't great in the back corners, so we use a torch sometimes to find the right size of some pipe fitting. Most of the time it’s just us talking to people who need something for their kitchen or for a small factory. We get a lot of dust from the road, so we spend time dusting off the lids and the chairs we sell. It’s a simple operation. We write everything down in the accounts book by hand. When the new stock arrives, it’s a big job to get the bags open and everything sorted. The street outside is usually full of bikes and people walking to the temple. It gets hot in the summer because plastic holds the heat, but we just keep the door open. We don’t do much advertising, people just know we are here. We have been working in this neighborhood for quite a long time now. It’s just about being here every day and making sure we have what people are looking for when they walk in. I keep a spare key under a brick just in case.
