About Jeevantara Club & Resort – Hotels, Motel & Resorts in Udaipur
This place is situated out at Valicha on the N H-8 Bypass. Being away from the middle of the city means it is a bit quieter, but we still have plenty to do. Most of my day is spent walking around the grounds checking on things. The bypass can get loud with the big trucks going by, but once you are inside the gates, it settles down a bit. We spend a lot of time on maintenance, like fixing broken tiles by the pool or making sure the grass isn't dying in the sun. It is a big area to look after, and there are only a few of us. We have rooms for people to stay in, so there is always laundry to be done and beds to be made. Sometimes guests arrive late at night because of delays on the highway, and someone has to be there to let them in. The kitchen staff is usually busy with breakfast before the sun is even fully up. We don't have the fancy bells and whistles of the big city hotels, but we keep things running. In the summer, the heat is pretty bad out here on the edge of town, so we try to get the heavy work done early. It’s a lot of practical stuff, like checking the water tanks and making sure the lights in the hallways are working. We just take it one day at a time here at Valicha.
