You can find Q Hotel Udaipur in the New Flora Complex, right near the New Pula Bridge in Fatehpura. We call ourselves a luxury budget hotel because we try to offer something a bit nicer than the basics without making it too expensive. It’s a balance we think about every day. The building is part of a larger complex, so it feels like being in a normal part of the city rather than a tourist bubble. We have a small crew that has been working here for years. We don't have anyone writing big speeches for us; we just know that people want a clean room and a shower that actually works. We have a rooftop where you can see some of the city, which is a nice place to sit in the evenings. It’s not one of those fancy palaces you see in the movies, but it’s an honest place to stay. We fix our own stuff and we buy our vegetables from the local market. If you need to know which auto-rickshaw to take or where the best local tea is, we can help you out. We’re just local people trying to keep a business going. We don’t promise anything we can’t do, just a fair price and a decent place to spend the night in Udaipur.
