Chunda Palace

We have been over here at 1-Haridasji ki Magri for a good while now. It is right near the Oberoi Udaivilas in the Hiran Magri area of Udaipur. People usually find us when they are heading that way or just wandering around the lake. The palace has a lot of history, though we do not make a huge deal about it every single day. We just keep the doors open and try to keep things running properly. It gets pretty busy sometimes, especially during the wedding season, because this part of town is popular for that. There is a lot of old artwork on the walls and the ceilings are high. It takes a lot of manual work to maintain a building like this. Some days the dust gets everywhere and we have to stay on top of it. We have staff who have been with us for years. They know the corners of this place better than anyone. If you walk around, you will see the lake isn't too far off. It is quiet in the mornings before the city wakes up. We do not have a fancy script for when guests arrive. We just say hello and help with the bags. Sometimes the internet is a bit slow because of the thick stone walls, but that is just how these old buildings are made. We try to keep the lights on and the rooms ready. It is just what we do here in Udaipur.
