If you look for No. 2/74 on Thenanandai Meetu Street, you will find us there in Vengalathur Village. We are the Vembakkam Collective Farming Farmerproducer Company Limited. This whole thing started because a few of us in the Cheyyar area realized we were all facing the same problems with our crops and selling them. Tiruvannamalai is a big place, but our corner in 604410 is pretty quiet. We don't have a receptionist or a big lobby with fancy lights. Usually, we just meet on the street or inside the small office space we have. It is mostly about getting the tractors sorted or finding better ways to buy fertilizer together. We aren't experts in business, but we know farming. Sometimes the records are a bit behind because we are busy in the fields, but we catch up eventually. The village is where our heart is, and Vengalathur has been good to us. We don't try to sound like a big company because we aren't one. We are just local folks trying to keep our heads above water. We use this collective to help each other out when things get expensive. It is a practical way to live. We don't have any grand speeches about the future or anything like that. We just look at what needs to be done today and try to do it right. It’s a bit dusty and the fan makes a noise, but it works for us and our families.
