If you go down Mariyamman Koil Street in Thandrampattu, you will find us at number 107. We are in the Tiruvannamalai Taluk area. This is a rural spot where almost everyone has some connection to the land. Our company is basically a group of neighbors who decided to pool our resources. The name is a bit of a mouthful, Tniamp Thurinjalaru, but we just think of ourselves as the local farmer group. We spend our days dealing with the practical side of agriculture. That means looking at seeds, talking about irrigation, and trying to find the best way to get our harvests to the market without losing money. It is a struggle sometimes. The heat here can be quite something during the summer months. Our office is just a simple place where we meet. There’s usually some dust on the floor from the boots coming in from the fields. We don't mind. It shows people are working. We aren't here to make big promises. We just try to keep the wheels turning for the small farmers in this part of the district. It’s a lot of paperwork which none of us really likes, but it has to be done to keep things legal. We’ve been at this address for a while and the locals know we are here if they need help with their produce. It’s just how things go in a small town. We don't have a lot of fancy technology. We use what works. Sometimes that's just a pen and a notebook.
