Out in Pattikollai Village, you will find us at No.01. We are the Tnvlsavvadhu Women Fed Food Processing Farmer Producer Company Limited. It is a very long name for a group of women from the village who got together to process food. We are based in the Vellore area. Most of us started out just working our own small plots of land. Now we spend our time taking what is grown and turning it into products people can use. It is hard work and the days are long. We often start before the sun is fully up to get things moving. The processing center is simple. We use what tools we have and try to keep everything clean and moving along. Sometimes the machines break down and we have to wait for someone to come from town to fix them. That’s just how it goes in a village. We aren't business experts with degrees. We are mothers and sisters who know how to handle food and farming. The office is just a corner of the building where we keep our papers and have our meetings. We talk about the prices of ingredients and how to get our goods to the markets in Vellore. It's a community effort here. We all look out for one another and try to make sure the work gets done right. It’s not always easy but we are proud of it.
