Vanmukil Matric School

Our school is at number 31 on the Oghur Murugapadi Road in Polur. It’s a busy enough road, and we’re right there in the middle of it. The school is a Matriculation school, so we follow that system and have been doing so for years. The building is a two-story structure with a yard in the front where the kids gather for their morning assembly. It gets quite loud then, with everyone trying to stand in line. We have teachers who have been here since the start, and they know almost every family in this part of Polur. It’s a very local feel. We don't have high-tech gadgets in every corner; instead, we have blackboards, wooden benches, and plenty of books. The office is usually stacked high with registers and folders because there is always a lot of paperwork to keep track of. Sometimes the rain makes the yard a bit muddy, but the kids don't seem to mind it much. We just tell them to wipe their feet before coming inside. We try to keep a decent environment for everyone, focusing on the basics of reading, writing, and arithmetic. It’s a humble setup, but it works for us and the people who live around Oghur Murugapadi Road. We just keep the doors open and do our best with what we have every single day.
