Our office is right on the Main Road in Mallavady. It’s part of the Tiruvannamalai district, pin code 606805. We go by the name Thurinjapuram Collective Farming Producer Company Limited. It’s just a group of us who live around here and decided to pool our resources. Being on the Main Road makes it easy for us to load up trucks and meet with people passing through. It’s not a fancy setup. We just have a few rooms where we keep our records and some equipment. Tiruvannamalai is a place where farming is the main thing most people do. We deal with all sorts of crops depending on the season. Sometimes it’s rice, other times it’s groundnuts. We don't have any fancy mission statements or corporate goals. We just want to make sure the farmers in Mallavady get a decent deal for their hard work. The building is a bit old and the paint is peeling in some spots, but it serves us well. You can usually find a few of us hanging around the front talking shop. We know all the families in the area since we all grew up together. It’s a collective in the truest sense—just a bunch of neighbors trying to make the farming life a little bit easier. If you’re driving through Mallavady, you’ll see our sign.
