Government Higher Secondary School

We are located right here on School Road in Onnupuram. If you have been around Arni for any length of time, you probably know the spot. The building is a bit older now, and maybe it could use a fresh coat of paint in some of the hallways, but it does the job for the kids. We have a lot of students coming in every morning from the surrounding villages and the town itself. It gets pretty loud when the bell goes off for lunch, and you can see everyone running out to the grounds. The teachers here are mostly locals who have been around for years. We don’t have fancy stuff, just the usual desks, blackboards, and a lot of books that have been passed down. In the afternoons, the sun hits the front of the school and it gets a bit warm, so we keep the windows open to catch whatever breeze comes through. It is just a normal place where we try to get through the lessons every day. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just keep going. It’s a busy place with a lot of history in these walls. Most people in the area probably went here themselves or have a cousin who did. We just show up, do the work, and try to make sure the kids are learning what they need to. It’s not a big corporate operation, just a community school doing its thing every day.
