Our workshop is located at G17 in the Ambattur Industrial Estate. If you know this part of town, you know it’s a hub for all sorts of manufacturing. There is a lot of activity here from early morning until late evening. At Evans Industrial Works Pvt. Ltd., we spend our days surrounded by metal shavings and the hum of motors. The space is a bit cramped because we have a lot of equipment packed into G17, but we make it work. It gets quite humid here, and sometimes the rain makes the roof rattle, but we just keep working through it. We’ve got a small crew of guys who have been with us for years. They know exactly where every tool is kept, even if the place looks a bit messy to an outsider. We don't have a receptionist or a lobby. You just walk in and you're right there where the work happens. Most of our time is spent measuring things and checking the machines. We get orders for all sorts of industrial parts, and we just take them one by one. It’s not the kind of job where you wear a suit. You wear old clothes that you don't mind getting grease on. We like being in Ambattur because everything we need is close by. It’s an honest way to make a living and we just stick to what we know and don't worry about much else besides the day's tasks.
