Diamond Machine Tools

Our workshop is down at No 87-A in Mannurpet, right off M T H Road in Padi. If you know the area, you know it’s mostly industrial and can get pretty loud with all the factories around. Diamond Machine Tools is basically a place where there is always some metal being cut or a machine being tested. The floor is usually covered in a bit of oil and metal shavings, no matter how much we try to sweep it up. It’s a bit hot inside during the summer months, but we have some big fans that help a little. We spend a lot of time looking at blueprints and measuring parts to make sure they’re right. It’s not the kind of job where you stay clean. My hands are usually stained with grease by lunchtime. We take our breaks near the entrance where there is a bit of a breeze from M T H Road. It’s a busy spot with trucks going back and forth all day long. We have a small office area tucked in the corner where the bills and orders are kept. It’s nothing special to look at, just some sturdy desks and old chairs. We’ve been in Padi for a good stretch of time and most of the other shop owners nearby are our friends. We just focus on the machines and getting orders out on time for whoever needs them.
