Started the shop in Ambattur Industrial Estate quite a few years back. If you know the South Phase, you know it’s mostly just rows of sheds and the sound of metal hitting metal all day long. We are over at 2C/8 in the Sidco plot. Most mornings start with a quick tea from the stall at the corner before we get the machines warmed up. We deal with these special technology machines, which basically means a lot of tinkering and fixing things that other people find a bit too complicated. It’s not a glamorous job. There’s grease on the floor and the fans don’t always keep the heat away in the summer months. We have a small crew, mostly guys who have been with us since the start. We don't really have a big office or a receptionist to greet people. Usually, you’ll just find one of us standing by a lathe or checking a blueprint on a wooden desk that’s seen better days. Customers come by because they know we don’t talk much and just get the work done. The traffic around the estate is getting worse every year, making it harder for the trucks to get in and out, but we manage. We aren’t looking to become some massive corporation; we just like having a steady stream of work and keeping the machines running without too much trouble. It's just how things are done here in this part of Chennai.
