Chennai Power Tools & Electrical

We are up on the first floor at number 648 on M T H Road in the Manurpet area of Ambattur. Chennai Power Tools & Electrical is a bit of a mouthful for a name, but it covers everything we do. Being on the first floor means people have to walk up the steps, which keeps the noise from the main road down just a little bit once you get inside. Ambattur is a busy industrial and commercial hub, so there is always a lot of traffic and trucks on M T H Road. Our space is filled with all sorts of power tools and electrical components. It’s mostly shelves and boxes everywhere you look. I spend a lot of my time just unpacking things and making sure they are placed in the right section. It’s not a fancy showroom with carpets or anything. We just have the stuff on the shelves and a wooden counter where we talk to customers. Sometimes the lighting in the back is a bit dim, but we manage just fine. We’ve been here for a good few years now. The neighborhood has a lot of shops like ours, so it’s a busy little area. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who know the inventory. It’s mostly about being practical and getting the right tool to the person who needs it. We close up around the usual time and head home through the Ambattur traffic.
