Shahana Export

You can find Shahana Export at No. 9 in the New Majith Complex on Workshop Street in Khaderpet. Being on Workshop Street means there is always something being built or fixed nearby. There is a lot of hammering and the smell of metal and grease in the air, which we’ve just gotten used to over the years. Our unit in the complex is modest. We have a few desks pushed together and some high shelves that we have to use a ladder to reach. Most of the day is spent coordinating things and making sure the orders are lined up correctly. It’s a lot of manual work, moving boxes around and checking labels under a dim light. We don't have fancy air conditioning, just a couple of wall fans that hum all day. We’ve got a little stove in the corner where we make coffee. It’s a place where we work hard and don't worry too much about appearances. The floor is concrete and has some stains from who knows when. We don't have a big website or a social media person. We just rely on doing the job right so people keep coming back. It can be a bit dusty and loud, but it’s our space and we know how to run it. When we close up the shutters at night, we’re usually pretty tired, but it feels good to have finished the day's tasks. There is a stray cat that hangs around the entrance, and we sometimes give it a bit of milk.
