Vekkaliyamman Institute

I have been working here at Phanda Mangala Agraharam for a long time now. The institute is located at No 6, just a short walk away from the Vekkaliyamman Temple in Woriyur. Most mornings, you can hear the temple bells clearly if the street isn't too noisy yet. The building is an older style, which I actually prefer, though the rooms get a bit warm during those long Trichy summers. We keep the fans running all day to help with that. Usually, people find us because they are already in the area visiting the temple or living nearby. It is not a fancy place, just some simple desks and chairs where we get through the daily work. Sometimes the narrow street gets a bit crowded with two-wheelers parked outside. I spend most of my time sitting at the front or checking on the different rooms. It can be a bit of a walk if you are coming from the main road, but it is a quiet spot. People around here know us as the place right near the temple. I usually bring my own lunch from home and eat it in the small back room during the break. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint one of these days, but it works fine for what we need. It is just a local life here, nothing too complicated. We see a lot of people pass through these doors. (246 words)
