K.A.Pv.Government Medical College

Living and working at the medical college in Tiruchirappalli is a busy life. Our address is at the teaching staff quarters, specifically C-2, which is right on the college grounds. It’s convenient because we are always close to the hospital and the students. In Trichy, the heat is something you just have to live with. Most of our days are spent in the wards or the lecture halls. The quarters are basic government housing, nothing fancy at all. We have our neighbors who are also doctors and professors, so work and home life tend to blend together. You’ll often see us walking across the campus in our white coats, heading to a meeting or a class. The college has been part of Tamil Nadu for a long time, and you can see that in the older buildings and the way things are run. We deal with a lot of paperwork and a lot of patients every single day. It’s a tiring job, but it’s what we do. There isn't much room for anything other than medicine and teaching here. In the evenings, we might sit outside the quarters for a bit of air when it cools down. The sounds of the hospital sirens and the students talking are always in the background. We don't have a lot of time for extra things. It’s a straightforward life of service and study in a hot, busy city that never stops.
