Chidambaram Pillai College For Women

Started here in Manachanallur years ago. It’s a busy spot in Trichy. The gates open early and you see girls coming in from all the nearby villages. We’ve got this building at No 12 that stays pretty cool even when the sun is really beating down outside. It’s not a fancy place but we have what’s needed for the classes. There’s always someone at the front desk handling admissions or just pointing people the right way. Most of the staff live around here too, so we know the families. The classrooms get noisy between lectures, then it goes quiet once the teachers start. We spend a lot of time making sure the paperwork for the exams is done right. It’s just how it goes here every day. Sometimes the power goes out and we just open the windows and keep moving. It's a regular college life for the women here. We see them graduate and then new ones show up the next term. Manachanallur is a good place for it because it’s easy to reach by bus. We don’t have big flashy signs or anything like that. Just a solid place where people come to learn and get their degrees. It feels like a small community once you’ve been here a few months. Everyone knows everyone eventually. We keep the grounds tidy as best as we can and focus on the day-to-day work of running a school.
