You can find us at number 32 in Maruthi Nagar, just off Allur Road. Divyavani Vidhya Mandhir Higher Secondary School is the full name on the sign. It’s a place that’s been around for a while. The area has changed some, but we’re still here doing the same thing every day. Our building is pretty plain, just concrete and paint, but it does the job. Inside, it’s usually quite loud until the classes actually start. We have a lot of desks and a lot of blackboards. Most of the people working here live nearby, so we all walk or ride our bikes in. It’s a very local feel. We don't try to act like we're something we're not. We just teach the subjects and try to keep the kids focused on their work. It’s a lot of effort, especially with the older students who have more to study. We don’t have a big budget for fancy things, so we just make do with what we have. Sometimes the windows need a bit of a scrub or the gate squeaks, but that’s just life. We’re here from early morning until late afternoon. We see the kids through their exams and then they move on to their next stage. It’s a cycle that we’ve gotten used to over the years. We just keep the doors open and do the daily work of running a school.
