If you drive down the Chennai Trunk Main Road in Kuthur, you’ll see our gates. Sri Vignesh Vidyalaya Senior Secondary School is tucked away there, right on the edge of Trichy. It’s a convenient spot for families living out this way. We have a lot of students coming from the surrounding villages and the main town area. The mornings are usually a bit of a rush with the traffic on the main road, but once you get inside the campus, it settles down. We’ve got the regular mix of primary and secondary kids. The labs and the library get plenty of use. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, so everyone looks forward to the shade under the trees during break time. We don’t go in for big, flashy displays. It’s more about the routine of lessons and exams. Some of the desks have been around a long time and they show it, but they still work fine. We have a ground for sports that gets a lot of action after the final bell. The staff room is usually full of papers and tea mugs. It’s a real place with real problems like leaky taps or a slow internet connection once in a while. We just handle things as they come and try to keep the kids focused on their books. It’s a local school for local people, run by folks who live right here in the community. We don't worry about being the most modern place around, just a decent one.
