Sri Vageeshe Vidyashram

Out here on Amma Mandapam Road in Srirangam, things stay pretty busy because of the temple nearby. Sri Vageeshe Vidyashram is located right in the middle of all that activity. You can often hear the sounds of the town while sitting in the classrooms. It is a place where we just get on with the job of teaching. The building has been part of this neighborhood for a while, and most people around Trichy know where we are. We have kids coming in from different parts of the city, some walking and others taking the bus. The morning assembly is usually when things feel the most organized before the chaos of the day begins. It is not a quiet place, but it has a rhythm to it that works for us. We do not have big flashy signs or anything like that. The walls have some old paint, and the desks show a bit of wear from all the students who have sat there. Every year, we see a new batch come in while the older ones leave for college. We just try to keep the environment decent and make sure the teachers have what they need. It is a simple setup, really. Life in Srirangam is slow in some ways but fast in others, and the school just fits right into that. We do not try to be anything we are not, just a school for local kids.
