S.B.Matriculation Higer Secondary School

Our school sits at No 8 on the Thuraiyur Main Road in Musiri, near Trichy. Being on the main road means there is always a lot of movement and the sound of buses and lorries passing by throughout the day. The school building has been part of this landscape for a good number of years. It’s a tall structure and you can see it from quite a distance as you come down the road. Inside, it’s a lot noisier than you’d think because of the echo in the hallways. We have the usual setup with classrooms for the younger kids on the lower floors and the older students further up. The staff room is usually a bit of a mess with registers and textbooks piled up on every available surface. We have a small area for assembly in the mornings where everyone gathers before the heat gets too bad. The windows are large to let in light, but they also let in the dust from the road. We spend a lot of time cleaning. It’s a very practical school without any unnecessary extras. We just focus on the daily lessons and making sure the students are where they need to be. Most of us have been working here for a long time and we know the routine like the back of our hands. It is just a normal, busy place.
