Pandian Saiva Unavakam

Our small eatery is located on Palakarai Main Road, right near the Prabath Theatre. We occupy numbers 67 and 68, which gives us a bit of space, but it still feels cozy when the lunch crowd arrives. Being a Saiva Unavakam, we focus entirely on vegetarian food, which is what the locals in Palakarai expect from us. Trichy mornings are usually busy, and we are right in the thick of it. You can hear the sounds of the street and the theatre crowds as they come and go. We don't have any fancy menus or complicated orders. It’s just the usual items that people eat every day. The kitchen is always busy, and there’s a lot of steam and noise coming from the back. We use simple tables and chairs, and the floor is just plain tile. It’s the kind of place where you can just walk in, find a seat, and eat quickly. We know most of the people who come in by their first names. They work in the shops nearby or live just down the street. It’s a lot of work to keep everything clean and ready, but we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of it over the years. We aren’t looking to become a big chain or anything. We’re just happy being here in Palakarai, serving the neighborhood as best as we can. Every day is pretty much the same, and we like it that way.
